These Animals Desperately Need Homes

Goats - We have a large number of goats available for rehoming including:

Gizmo & Scott - who are 6 and 2 year old goats respectively and kept as part of a free range herd used for breeding. They have now been neutered but have large horns and an experienced home would be preferred.

Silver & Chancey - are male, castrated large white goats with no horns who came in as they are unwanted.  Very friendly, looking for a new home. At Church Knowle, Dorset, please contact 01929 480474.

Mary - is a 14 month old land race great white x Gloucestershire female pig, who came to us when she had outgrown her shelter.  She is playful and enjoys having her tummy tickled.  She seems to prefer men.

Sheep - We have a selection of sheep residing at Church Knowle of mixed breeds, sizes and ages. Sheep will not be rehomed to anyone who intends to use them for breeding purposes.

Horses - We always have a number of horses at various stages of rehabilitation with the aim of enabling them to be light hacks although in some cases a horse will only be placed as a non-riding companion. We currently have:

Harvey - 8 yrs, 15hh1, Irish Draught X TB.  Harvey had a difficult start in life so needs a very special home with an experienced handler who has lots of time and patience.  Sadly he can only be rehomed as a companion due to an old stifle injury.

Kizzy - 28 yrs, 14hh2, Cob X. Kizzy suffers from laminitus and cushings disease, although is currently coping well with no medication. Her grazing must be limited and her weight carefully monitored. She would be a suitable companion for mares or geldings and enjoys human company.

Squirrel - 9 yrs, 11hh1, Shetland X NF. Squirrel has been backed and ridden at the Sanctuary but due to no rider, will need more work. She is very keen and would love a confident child to have fun with. She can be rather spirited and has been known to show mareish/cheeky behaviour at times. She would make a fantastic pony club pony with the right child.

Angel - 24 yrs, 15hh2, Cob type. Angel was found abandoned on the side of the road and came to the Sanctuary as a 2 yr old. She is still full of life and would make a lovely companion. She is generally very easy to handle but dislikes the vet (especially having her teeth done) and has been known to rear.

Cassie - 14 yrs, 16hh, Percheron X. Sadly Cassie can no longer be ridden so would be looking for a companion home only. She can be very strong and a bit pushy but has a sweet nature. Cassie loves her food but suffers with sweet itch in the summer months.

Casanova - 16 yrs, 17hh1, Cleveland Bay X Thoroughbred. Casanova is everyone's favourite. He is very handsome and a real gentle giant. His mum died when he was three months old and, as a result, he suffers with separation anxiety so would need an experienced home. He has now been backed and currently being ridden.
