Regardless of the reason or circumstances, if you have an animal that you can no longer look after and need to bring into the sanctuary please telephone us as soon as possible. We understand that saying goodbye to a family animal can be a stressful time for you and your animal and will be here to help and support you in this difficult decision.

Our sanctuaries can have long waiting lists, but when you call, we will be able to check if we have the space and will also appreciate any information you can give us, i.e veterinary history, characteristics, etc.

Before bringing in your animal, please carefully reconsider your decision, as once signed over to MGFT, we will become the legal owners to care for and endeavour to find an alternative loving home.

Every animal is thoroughly health-checked and assessed before being placed in a new home. All our cats and dogs are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for worms and fleas before becoming available for rehoming.

Once a prospective new owner has been found, a home check will be carried out to ensure the animal's requirements can be met.

We will accept your animals free of charge, but please bear in mind that there are costs to care for your animal. Therefore all donations are kindly received.

If you have found a stray animal, there may well be a desperate owner looking for it, so please always get in touch with your local police stations, dog warden (if relevant) and us as soon as possible.
